If you’re looking for the perfect beach playground to enjoy a fun-filled day with family, look no further than Hirono Seaside Park in beautiful Shizuoka Prefecture. This stunning seaside locale is just a three-hour drive from central Tokyo, making it an ideal getaway for both locals and visitors. And while getting here by train is possible, it can be a bit of a hassle. You’ll need to take a bullet train to Shizuoka Station, hop on a local train to Mochimune Station, and then enjoy a leisurely 25-minute walk. But if you’re on a road trip, we highly recommend staying nearby, just like we did at the charming Hatago Inn, Shizuoka! Once you arrive at Hirono Seaside Park, you’ll be greeted by the delightful sound of waves crashing against the shore and the laughter of children playing. The car park is conveniently open from 6 AM to 9 PM (with winter hours ending at 8 PM), allowing you plenty of time to soak up the sun and enjoy the incredible views. Plus, the walk from the car park to the park is just a minute away, making it super easy to access the playground while taking in the fresh sea breeze.
